What are AiLert's weapon detection software alerting protocols ?
When our system finds an anomaly, our software SAMSON™ sends an alert in under 2 seconds. It shares this alert using GDPR-compliant encryption. The alert goes to your command control or our alarm center for human validation. Once the alert is confirmed, it is sent to your security team. You can use your preferred messaging method, like Microsoft Teams, SMS, Telegram, WhatsApp, or email.
What type of data is shared in an alert ?
Alerts from SAMSON™ provide important situational awareness data for security and law enforcement. This includes precise GPS coordinates and the floor number. It also includes a video sequence of the anomaly and a still image. Additionally, there is a timer showing how long it has been since the weapon was detected. Finally, it offers 3D elevation imagery of the location and Google Street View.
How fast can SAMSON™ weapon detection software detect a firearm ?
Our AI is very fast. When a weapon enters the camera’s view, it takes two seconds to send an alert for human validation. A video engineer checks alerts quickly. It usually takes about 20 seconds. They decide if it is an emergency during this time. When declaring an alert as an emergency, a video engineer starts costly first responder protocols. Therefore, human validation is important for proper timing.
What are the types of weapons can SAMSON™ detect ?
SAMSON™ can recognize small magazine-fed handguns and revolvers as well as assault rifles.
How accurate is SAMSON™ weapon detection software ?
In 220 incidents, about 80% were real-world events (around 176) and about 20% were staged drills (around 44). We accurately detected 97% of weapon events using 8 cameras. We had a 98% rate of correct alert identification. That yields an overall quality score (F1) of 0.975, with about 1 false alert per camera every 25 days. When the weapon is easy to see and is about 50 pixels wide, the performance is almost perfect. The F1 score is around 0.97
What is SAMSON™'s weapon detection false positive rate ?
In recent field testing, SAMSON™ averaged about 1 false alert per camera every ~25 days (≈ 0.04 per camera-day). In a separate, controlled live exercise, we measured a 0.07% false-positive rate.
Real-world results depend on camera quality, lighting, and crowd activity. However, our goal is the same everywhere: to provide high-confidence alerts without overwhelming your team.
